Dr Sharon. Cox is an accredited member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) , she runs yoga classes and workshops for a range of psychological conditions including eating disorders, stress, anxiety, depression, body image, PTSD, menopause, insomnia, and general emotional well-being and resilience.
‘Embodying change’ is her way to manage our emotional wellbeing, which combined psychotherapeutic theories and yoga philosphies to provide a more embodied and holistic understanding of individuals.
She believes that not only talking to others can help people to improve their mental wellbeing, but also practicing yoga can promotes people’ psychological wellbeing.
Dr Sharon. Cox explains that Yoga, in general will help people adjust their emotional wellbeing because of the breathing practice which helping people reconnect with their bodies, especially in UK’s culture, people tend to be quite disconnective with their minds and bodies.
Through the use of yoga, people can begin to better manage their nervous systems, and then to regulate their emotion mental wellbeing, especially via breathing and postures practices ’’
